JBU Alumni Board
2005 - 2006
Paul J. Hill '01
LR ADVANCE #18
What an honor it is to be asked to serve on the JBU Alumni Board - the first graduate
to do so from the ADVANCE program! It has been a great pleasure to work with the
staff and fellow board members, and to learn that the philosophy of “Head, Heart
and Hand” transcends the classroom and campus life THROUGHOUT the state, permeating
the faculty and leadership from top to bottom.
I was born and raised in San Diego, CA and Kansas City, MO and still have friends
and family in both places. A twenty-four year career in the U.S. Air Force has taken
me around the world several times, bringing me “home” to Beebe, Arkansas, where
I’ve lived since finishing a four year tour in Tokyo, Japan in 1996. I graduated
from JBU in December of 2001 while working on active duty as Ground Training Superintendent
and Community College of the Air Force Program Manager for the 314th Operations
Group, Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, and retired from the military in September of
2002. Praying that the Lord would allow me to continue a life of service and maybe
keep me close to home for a change, I was subsequently elected Clerk/Treasurer for
the City of Beebe in November of 2002 and serve their still – less than one half
mile from my home!
As with many other ADVANCE grads, a friend from the program lead me to JBU, and
I have had the pleasure of leading several of my friends to a program that cares
as much for your spirit as it does for your mind. Many of my classmates and I have
kept in touch, just as many other ADVANCE graduates, and I urge any ADVANCE graduates
out there to consider me their personal representative to the Board of Alumni. Further,
I invite you to continue your relationship with the university through many of the
programs and activities available to ALL alumni. “Head, Heart and Hand – for Life!”
